HoldersÿReal Madrid have been drawn to face two former winners of the competition, when they were pitted against Milan and Borussia Dortmund in today’s draw for the Champions League second group stage.

The three former winners were also drawn to face Lokomotiv Moscow in Group C.

Spanish and Italian sides also meet in in Group A where Barcelona were drawn against two-times winners Internazionale. Last season’s runners-up Bayer Leverkusen, along with Premier League club Newcastle United complete the group.

In Group B, Spanish champions Valencia, beaten finalists in 2000 and 2001, were drawn against Arsenal, Ajax and Roma.

Group D promises some epic encounters with Manchester United, Juventus and Deportivo La Coruna vying for a place in the last 8, while surprise qualifiers Basle, will be looking to upset the established order.
