The Champions League might have just finished for another season, but we’ve already got the outright prices for 2008/09. Will Man Utd retain the cup?

Andrei Arshavin could be tempted by a move to Chelsea, a Zenit St Petersburg spokesman has claimed.

Arshavin has attracted interest from a number of leading European clubs following his impressive displays for Russia at Euro 2008.

Barcelona were thought to be the frontrunners to capture the 27-year-old, however a Zenit spokesman has revealed that talks between Chelsea and the player’s agent have taken place and a move to Stamford Bridge could in the offing.

Zenit spokesman Konstantin Sarsania told the Daily Star: “On Thursday, players from the national team return to our training camp.

“Arshavin and his agent Pavel Andreev are to clarify their position with us then.

“We do not want to sell Arshavin. That’s exactly why we need Andrei to meet the bosses of the club – to understand what he is really after.

“My understanding was that he would like to go and play abroad. But he isn’t only interested in moving to Barcelona.

“There’s also Chelsea. Andrei never rejected the idea of moving there.

“The Chelsea managers know the situation and have already talked to his agent.”
