Chelsea are reported to be close to sealing a deal which would make Dutch side PSV Eindhoven their nursery club.
As part of the deal, Chelsea are helping to fund the signing of Santos defender Alex by PSV.
“Nothing’s been properly finalised just yet but there are clear advantages for everyone concerned,” PSV chairman Harry van Raaij told the News of the World.
“It is true Chelsea are behind this signing. Everyone’s hopeful we can continue to work together.”
Alex, 21, is reported to be set to spend a maximum of two years with PSV before joining.
