France striker Djibril Cisse has revealed that he is looking forward too playing alongside Michael Owen at Liverpool even though he has yet to agree terms on a move to Anfield.

Cisse, 22, said he thought he and Owen would combine to good effect.

“Liverpool is a good club for a start, a first springboard for me,” Cisse was reported as saying on Liverpool’s official website.

“Michael is the best English striker and to play with him will be very flattering.

“We are complementary. He likes to play to feet and I like the spaces. The English style of play suits me as it is so quick.”
