Fabricio Coloccini has revealed that he is happy to stay with Deportivo La Coruna, amid reports Tottenham Hotspur have enquired about his availability.

The Argentinian international defender was recently dropped from Depor’s starting line-up, prompting speculation that he could be on his way in January.

But Coloccini has reiterated his desire to to stay in La Coruna.

“I am happy at Deportivo and I want to stay here,” affirmed Coloccini.

“I am not going to change to another team at this moment, it’s too soon and if I can stay, better.

“Then after some time has gone by I will analyse everything that could appear.

“On the other hand, I never said I wanted to leave Deportivo. In some moments that had been said because I wanted to play in the World Cup, but I am calm.”

Coloccini also played down suggestions that he had fallen out with coach Joaquin Caparros after being dropped from the team.

He added: “I understand that maybe some people could be surprised when I wasn’t included in the team by the coach, but he is the one who takes each decision and we have to respect them.

“I don’t have any problem with the coach.”
