Manchester City have completed the signing of Valencia striker Bernando Corradi.

The 30-year-old former Italy international, who spent last season on loan at Parma, has signed a three-year contract at Eastlands.

City boss Stuart Pearce told his club’s website: “I am delighted to have secured Bernando.

“He is a player I’ve been looking at for some time and he will be a terrific acquisition for this football club.”

Corradi joined Valencia from Lazio in 2004 but was loaned out to Parma after a disappointing first season in Spain. He scored for Parma and although they wanted to extend his stay at the club, Valencia opted to sell.

Corradi said: “I hope to bring all my enthusiasm to Manchester City and I want to show everyone I want to work hard now and during the season with my team-mates. I want to do well here.

“I hope to have the possibility to work well with my team. As I striker I will work hard and help the team to make a lot of goals.

“At the end the important thing is the team – and by working together as one the team will end in a good position.”
