Inter striker Julio Ricardo Cruz faces months out of the game after tests revealed he had suffered ligament damage to his right knee.
The Argentinian picked up the injury during Sunday’s 1-0 win over Reggina and underwent a scan on Tuesday, Inter said on their official web site.
Inter, who face Sporting Lisbon in Champions League Group B on Wednesday, can rely upon Argentine Hernan Crespo and Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic as their first choice strikers.
