David de Gea says he is fully focused on Atletico Madrid, amid reports linking him with a big money move to Manchester United.
The 19-year-old keeper is regarded as one of Europe’s hottest properties, having made the step up at Atletico this year.
United, and Spanish champions Barcelona, are reported to be among those monitoring De Gea, with Sir Alex Ferguson in attendance for Atletico’s 1-1 draw with Valencia last week.
De Gea is aware that speculation regarding his future, but the Spain U21 international is refusing to speculate on a possible move.
“The important thing is that I have a contract here and I’m an Atletico player until 2013. That’s what matters,” he said.
“The truth is that everything is turning out well here, and I’m with my family and my friends, which is what I need. I think that is very important.”
“I have a contract until 2013, and when the year is out we’ll see if things are going well, and those who have to talk [about an extension] will talk.”
