Barcelona midfielder Deco will miss Portugal’s Euro 2008 qualifiers against Belgium and Serbia after undergoing surgery on one of the fingers on his right hand.
“He will be able to start training again after seven to 10 days,’ Doctor Xavier Mir told the club’s website on Monday.
“From the third week he will be able to play with special protection.”
Barcelona will not be affected by the injury as the 29-year-old midfielder is unavailable for their next league match at home to Deportivo Coruna on the weekend of April 1 because of suspension.
