Alessandro Del Piero will not be fit to face Arsenal in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash with Arsenal.
Juve trail 2-0 from the first leg and are already without Patrick Vieira, Jonathan Zebina and Mauro German Camoransei due to suspension.
Coach Fabio Capello hoped that Del Piero would shake off the leg injury, but he failed a fitness test on Tuesday.
“Del Piero has not been picked,” Capello confirmed.
Capello was sanguine about Juve’s prospects, despit ethe loss of four key players.
“I never cry about what I don’t have,” Capello said. “I’m always positive. I am happy with the team I have and I am confident that we can do well.”
The return of Pavel Nedved Nedved is a boost for Capello.
“Nedved is a crucial player,” Capello said. “He is able to change the rhythm of a team during a game. And considering we have to attack from the very beginning, he will be important for us.”
