Alessandro Del Piero is still confident he can make Marcello Lippi’s World Cup squad.
The 35-year-old Italian forward was a member of the Azzurri side that won the trophy four years ago.
With Lippi – the winning coach from 2006 – back in charge, the veteran is confident he can make the plane to South Africa.
“I’m still very hopeful of making the squad,” said Del Piero.
“I know that Lippi has not chosen the squad yet so there are still chances for me.
“I’m really hopeful about it and I believe that a match like tomorrow gives me a good chance of trying to achieve that.”
