Romanian first division leaders Dinamo Bucharest have fired coach Ion Marin after a string of poor results and named Romanian udner-21 coach, Florin Marin, as his successor.

Dinamo Bucharest drew 1-1 at home with Politehnica Iasi at the weekend to allow arch-rivals Steaua, who beat Otelul Galati 3-0 away, to move level on points at the top of the table.

Ion Marin had taken over for his second spell as coach only in February.

“Ion Marin left this morning after the club’s board decided to name Florin Marin as new coach,” the spokesman said.

“Florin Marin’s deal will run until the end of the season.
