Under pressure Hamburg coach Thomas Doll has vowed to fight for his future.

Doll’s position has come under scrutiny after a terrible start to the season both in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.

Hamburg lie second from bottom of the table and they are still without a point after five matches in the Champions League.

“It’s normal that a lot of people come out of their holes and start firing away in a society like ours,” Doll said.

“I’ve gotten hard, I can handle it.”

Hamburg chairman Bernd Hoffmann gave Doll his backing, although he admitted that that the was in crisis.

“We hope to still work with Doll in three years,” said Hoffmann.

“But we have a massive crisis, we have to get out of it fast and we don’t have much time.”
