France coach Raymond Domenech has named several new faces in his squad on Tuesday for the August 20 friendly against Sweden.

After a disappointing Euro 2008 campaign and the retirement of Claude Makelele and Lilian Thuram, Domenech also recalled Marseille striker Hatem Ben-Arfa, while Bordeaux striker Yoann Gourcuff and Rennes defender Rod Fanni were selected for the first time. Arsenal full back Gael Clichy comes in for Eric Abidal, who is suspended for the first World Cup qualifier against Austria on September 6.

There was no place for experienced keeper Gregory Coupet or midfielder Samir Nasri while Patrick Vieira, Franck Ribery and Willy Sagnol are injured.
