Italian Football Federation commissioner Luca Pancalli has given a vote of confidence to under-fire coach Roberto Donadoni.

Donadoni’s position has come under scrutiny following Italy’s disappointing start to their Euro 2008 campaign.

Italy who face Scotlannd next Wednesday trail the Scots and France in their qualification group, and further dropped points would only increase the pressure on the former Livorno coach.

Pancalli is adamant that Donadoni, who had the daunting task of succeeding World Cup winner Marcello Lippi last summer, is the man for the job.

“Donadoni is untouchable,” declared Pancalli. “I’ve complete faith in him and at this moment the team needs continuity and not disruption.”
