Borussia Dortmund have signed Arminia Bielefeld’s South Africa striker Delron Buckley in a deal worth €425,000.

Buckley, 27, has signed a four-year deal with the Bundesliga club.

“With Delron Buckley, we get a left-footer in attack as well as a quick and deadly finisher who fits into my plans,” said coach Bert van Marwijk.

Hans-Joachim Watzke, managing director of Dortmund, believes the club have got themselves a bargain.

“We have signed one of the most prolific strikers in the Bundesliga under very favourable conditions,” he said.

Buckley has scored 15 league goals this season. However, his season came to a premature conclusion when he was suspended for six-weeks for pushing a referee in the German Cup semi-final last week.
