The Egyptian Football Association says the country’s football league has been suspended until a “return of stability” to the Middle Eastern nation.
Protesters in Egypt have recently stepped up their campaign to overthrow President Hosni Mubarak after a 30-year reign, causing the association to suspend all football activity in the country.
Last week, the Egyptian association postponed the 16th round of the league amid anti-government protests. On Monday, the United States cancelled a friendly that have been scheduled for next Wednesday.
