Giovane Elber has spoken of his relief at ending an his spell with Lyon, where he terminated his contract last week after just 18 months with the French champions.

Elber joined Borussia Monchengladbach during the winter transfer window.

”I had 20 or 30 bad nights recently and only now can I sleep well again,” Elber told Kicker.

”From a sporting perspective I didn’t feel well there and for the last one-and-a-half years I had no fun at all.

“In the Bundesliga everything is more professional and simply better, that’s why I wanted to return.”

Elber has missed most of the season due to a broken shinbone but he hopes to return to action
within a month.

”I’ll continue to do my rehab, but in three or four weeks, I want to play again,” he continued.

”A five months break is just too long, I really miss the feeling of scoring goals.

”Advocaat doesn’t want to fight against relegation, he aims to play on the international stage and I like it if you set yourself high aims.”
