Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson still hopes to bring Mark Bresciano to Eastlands.
The Swede has long been an admirer of the Australian midfielder and tried to sign him from Palermo before the close of the transfer window.
Bresciano visited Manchester and looked all set to join, only for the deal to collapse after the two clubs to fail to agree upon a payment structure.
“We were always interested in him,” Eriksson told the Manchester Evening News.
“He might be a possibility. But it is too early. Let’s wait for a couple of months then see exactly what we need.”
