Espanyol have made an offer for Rivaldo and believe they have a ’50-50 chance’ of signing the Brazilian.

The struggling La Liga team, who currently prop up the table in Spain, have given the player’s representatives a deadline of 48 hours to decide whether thge player is interested in making a return to Barcelona.

“We would love him to come, but the obstacle, as always, is the economic question,” stgated Espanyol president Sanchez Llibre.

“The offer is on the table and we have given his representative 48 hours to see if he wants to take it forward.”

“If we sign him, Espanyol will do it, and it would be Espanyol that would take charge of everything.”

The Spaniards are likely to face stiff competition for the player’s signature with several Premier League clubs reported to be interested in the Brazilian.
