Chelsea lost their unbeaten record in the Premiership against Spurs but Phil Scolari’s side remain hot favourites to win the title.

Everton have completed the signing of Marouane Fellaini from Standard Liege in a club record deal of €16m.

Tottenham, Newcastle, West Ham and Everton were all reported to be locked in a battle to land the highly-rated Standard Liege star.

The 20-year-old Belgium international was also a target for Tottenham, Newcastle and West Ham, but Everton sealed Fellaini’s signature on a five-year contract

Fellaini’s agent Christophe Henrotay confirmed the deal was done just before the transfer deadline.

“It is all okay,” he said.

“Marouane has signed for five-years and Standard gets €16 million.”
