Everton have emerged as the favourites to sign rising Swedish star Rasmus Elm after he visited the club.

Elm’s club, Kalmar FF, confirmed over the weekend that Everton had made an approach for the promising 21-year-old midfielder.

Elm’s representative, Patrick Mork, has admitted the player would be interested in a move to Everton and the Premier League.

“For sure Everton is an interesting option for Rasmus,” Mork told skysports.com.

“Everton asked him to visit the club last Friday and everything was positive at Everton.

“Of course it would be interesting for Rasmus to play in England, but he has a lot of options.

“There has been a lot of interest in Rasmus and he also has other options in England.

“Rasmus is regarded as one of the best players in Sweden in the last 20 years – that is his reputation.

“He is a special player and he has a big decision to make.”
