Torres has been linked with a move away from Atletico Madrid in the summer and Fabregas believes torres would be ideal for Arsenal.

“We would love it if he came because he is a complete player with a great physique and I am a big fan of his,” Fabregas said.

“Torres is a good player, a great goalscorer and we would be delighted if he was to sign for us.”

The Arsenal midfielder has been included in Luis Aragones’ provisional 27-man squad and remains hopeful he will be selected in the final 23 named on Monday.

“I am very focused and I am waiting to see who Luis names now that the season has finished and there is nothing more to concentrate on before that,” he added.

“Of course, the Champions League final is coming up, but the first thing is the Spain squad, which will be named next Monday.”
