Manchester United supporters’ groups have called off their proposed boycott of Saturday’s Premiership game against West Brom at Old Trafford.

Supporters planned to register their protest against the proposed £800m takeover bid from American tycoon Malcolm Glazer. But the “Not For Sale” supporters group felt it had not left sufficient time to organise the protest.

Glazer is in negotiations with major backers JP Morgan and NM Rothschild as he seeks funding for his takeover. He has been given until May 17 by the Takeover Panel to confirm whether he plans to launch a bid.
