Manchester City have confirmed that they have agreed a fee with Fenerbahce for striker Nicolas Anelka.

City are believed to have accepted an offer of around £7m for the 25-year-old, who will now open talks with the Turkish club.

“Manchester City and Fenerbahce have agreed a fee for the transfer of Nicolas Anelka,” City said on their website.

“The club will make no further comment until the transfer is complete.”

Anelka is understood to be in Paris, and will fly to Turkey for a medical once terms are agreed.

Anelka has not played for City since New Year’s Day due to a groin injury.

The French international has scored 45 goals for City since joining them for £13m from French side Paris St Germain in July 2002.
