Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was attacked at a London railway station, police confirmed on Tuesday.
The 65-year-old manager was attacked by a man at Euston station at about 4:30pm on Monday.
“We can confirm that one of the victims was Sir Alex Ferguson and he received injuries to his leg,” a police spokesman said.
A 40-year-old man has been charged with one count each of actual bodily harm, assault and a public order offence.
Ferguson received minor injuries but they did not prevent him attending a function in the capital.
