Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has voiced his concerns about releasing Louis Saha for international duty with France in the future.

The former Fulham striker suffered another knee injury playing for his country two weeks ago and is expected to be out until the New Year.

Ferguson said: “He’s had a terrible time and every injury has been with France. It is unbelievable.

“He has not been injured with us at all. It gives us concerns about him going to play for France again.”

Saha joined United from Fulham during last January’s transfer window but has been plagued by problems since the summer.

He missed the club’s pre-season trip to the United States and the opening four games of the new campaign. After making his comeback at the end of August he was injured while on international duty with France.

The £12.8million signing has made only 15 starts in all competitions since his move to Old Trafford.
