A German player has been arrested in connection with Germany’s match-fixing scandal.
Steffen Karl, a player for third division side Chemnitz FC, had been arrested and faces fraud and organised crime charges, state prosecutors in Berlin said.
Two referees have already been arrested in the scandal.
Karl is suspected of helping fix the results of a May 2004 match between Paderborn and Chemnitz.
