Villarreal striker Diego Forlan has denied knowledge of a proposed move to Valencia.
Reports in the Spanish press have linked the Uruguayan with a summer move to the Mestalla, but Forlan claims he has had no contact with Valencia.
“I don’t know anything about Valencia,” he said. “It’s true that my friends have called me and have told me that speculation in the newspapers about this story is intensifying, but I can assure you there is nothing.
“I have not had any contacts with the Valencia directors and do not believe Villarreal have any proposition.
“I am telling them (the media) the truth but it seems they don’t believe me, but I will repeat it, I don’t know anything.
“I am calm and thinking about playing the last game of the season and then having some holidays.
“I am very happy here, Villarreal are a great team that want to grow and I have a contract until 2009.”
