Al-Saadi Gaddafi, the son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, is to join the board of Italian champions Juventus.
Football-mad Al-Saadi will take one of two new board seats together with car designer Andrea Pininfarina, Juventus said in a statement.
Libya is trying to use soccer to raise its profile after years ofinternational isolation. Juventus and Parma played the pre-season Italian Supercup in the Libyan capital Tripoli in August.
Libya was once an Italian colony and the Libyans recently bought a stake in Juventus.
