Arsenal, who are in pole position to grab the all-important fourth placed slot, make the trip to Newcastle this Saturday evening.

A charge of assault against Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard over a nightclub brawl has been dropped at a court hearing.

But Gerrard, 28, still faces a charge of affray, which could see him jailed for up to six months and/or fined up to £5,000 pounds if he is found guilty.

The England midfielder appeared in court at North Sefton Magistrates’ Court in Southport facing charges in relation to a fight in the town in which a 34-year-old man lost a tooth and suffered a cut face.

The incident took place during a night out in December last year when Gerrard was celebrating Liverpool’s 5-1 defeat of Newcastle United.
