Liverpool are reported to be considering making a move for Barcelona’s Ludovic Giuly.

Giuly admitted earlier this week that his long-term future remains shrouded in uncertainty.

“I have a lot of offers, from France and other countries. But I have no offer from Barca, where I still have one year remaining on my contract,” he said.

“Anything can happen. We will see.”

With Barcelona believed to only be prepared to offer another year to his present deal, which expires in 2007,, there has been speculation that he may leave in the summer.

According to L’Equipe, Benitez is a big admirer of the former Monaco player and will step up his intertest in the player if Giuly is unable to agree a new deal with Barcelona.

Giuly has not given up hope of representing France at the World Cup finals this summer.

“I have had a good season, and have always considered myself a starting XI player,” said.

“(Marseille’s Franc) Ribery is a good player who is having an excellent season, but he has received a lot more media coverage than me.

“I would not understand it if I was not picked, whether it was Ribery or someone else. The most important thing is to be in Germany.
