Newcastle winger Jonas Gutierrez insists he is paying no attention to the speculation linking him with an £ 8million move to Lazio.
Premier League Newcastle are rumoured to be growing concerned about the fact that the 27-year-old has shown no interest in signing a contract extension.
Gutierrez has two years remaining on his current deal, but manager Alan Pardew will not be prepared to see the player run his his contract down and risk losing him on a free transfer.
Lazio are reported to have held talks with Newcastle officials over a possible move at the end of the season, but the player is not listening to speculation.
“Rumours are rumours,” Gutierrez is quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror. “Now I’m just focused on my work in Newcastle.”
