Asamoah Gyan has arrived at Sunderland ahead of his proposed move to the Stadium of Light.
Rennes’ striker, Gyan,caught the eye at the 2010 World Cup after scoring three goals for his Ghana in South Africa.
It is understood that a club-record deal in the region of £12million could be on the cards, as Black Cats manager, Steve Bruce, looks to fill the vacancy created by the departure to Stoke City of Kenwyne Jones.
The 24-year-old joined Rennes from Udinese in 2008 and he has since scored 14 goals for the club.
