Hertha Berlin have appointed Hans Meyer as their new coach until the end of the season.
Hertha sacked Dutchman Huub Stevens at the start of December and last week took the decision to get rid of caretaker coach Andreas Thom.
Meyer was coach of Borussia Moenchengladbach from 1999 until he quit in March this year after a string of poor results.
