Fernando Hierro has confirmed that considering retiring from football at the end of this season.

The 36-year-old former Real Madrid captain said he enjoyed his seasson with Bolton, but admitted his career was moving towards its end.

“It’s possible that these will be the last few months of my playing career,” he told Bolton’s website.

“In fact, I thought that I would end my playing days in Qatar until the chance (to play with Bolton) came along.”

Hierro was a regular with Madrid from 1989 until 2003, before leaving to spend a year in Qatar.

“For me it’s a dream come true because after the Spanish league, it was the only other place that I thought about playing,” he added.

“Truth be told, I’m loving it.”
