Barcelona midfielder Alexander Hleb will be sidelined for up to four weeks due to an ankle injury.

Hleb, who joined Barca from Arsenal in the summer, suffered the injury during Saturday’s Primera Liga encounter against Racing Santander.

Barcelona have confirmed on the club’s official website that Hleb will now be out for ‘three or four weeks’ with a sprained ankle.

It means Hleb will miss Barca’s opening Champions League group tie with Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday and is a major doubt for the second game against Shakhtar Donetsk.
