Chelsea’s German defender Robert Huth would welcome the arrival of compatriot Michael Ballack at Stamford Bridge.

Ballack’s agent Michael Becker admitted earlier this week that Chelsea were leading the race to sign the Bayern Munich playmaker in the summer.

Huth is hoping to persuade his international coellleague to move to Stamford Bridge.

“If he comes, I’d be glad to have him in the team, but if he doesn’t, I’ll wish him all the best wherever he goes,” Huth told The Times.

“He’s a great player and would definitely add something to the team.

“Any club would love to have him and he’ll make his decision at the end of the season.

“If he wants to talk to me about it, then I’m happy to help him, but if he doesn’t, I’m not going to be upset as it’s his future.

“I don’t have one bad word to say about Chelsea, the supporters and the players and would recommend the club to him.”
