Vincenzo Iaquinta has ended his dispute with Udinese by signing a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2010.

Iaquinta was dropped from the Udinese first team squad earlier this month after refusing to agree to extend his contract beyond 2007.

The forward, who was recently capped by Italy, was left out for the Serie A defeats to Juventus and Reggina and the 4-1 Champions League defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League.

Club owner Giampaolo Pozzo had said that Iaquinta would be sold when the transfer window opened in January unless he signed a new deal.

But, general manager Pietro Leonardi confirmed today that Iaquinta had agreed a three-year extension to his current deal.

“The club has really appreciated the intelligence and willingness of the player,” said Leonardi.
