Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has played down talk of a rift with coach Roberto Mancini.

The pair have exchanged words via the media following Sunday’s 2-1 derby defeat to Milan, with Moratti criticising Inte for being too cautious.

However, Moratti believes the row was inevitable and has also confirmed that Mancini will be in charge next season.

“Many times a person feels obliged to reply to make clear their own position and unintentionally a situation of contrast is born,” said Moratti.

“In reality we are pulling in the same direction. Also next season? Yes I think so.”
