Arsenal, who will still be buzzing from their midweek win in Turkey, make the trip across town to face West Ham this Sunday.

Inter president Massimo Moratti believes Milan’s bid to sign David Beckham reflects the ‘different philosophies’ between the city rivals.

Milan are in talks to sign Beckham on a short-term loan deal in January from Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy.

Milan’s bid to bring in the former Manchester United midfielder has divided opinion in Italy, with Moratti suggesting Inter would never consider signing a player approaching the end of his career.

“The Beckham deal is part of a philosophy that Milan began when they brought in Christian Vieri, then Ronaldo and Ronaldinho,” Moratti told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It’s a road that a big club can go down and it can deliver entertainment to the public.

“However, we are choosing to go down a different road and you can’t mix and match philosophies.

“We will have to wait until the end of the season to see which path works better.”
