Inter president Massimo Moratti has played down rumours linking Ryan Giggs witha move to the club, after it was reported earlier in the week that the Manchester Uited winger had become a target for coach Inter Hector Cuper.

Reports circulating in recent days hinted that Inter were preparing a bid for the Welsh flyer when the trannsfer window opens in January. However, Moratti has declared that he is happy with the current Inter squad and sees no need to strengthen it.

“There is nothing new on it,” said Moratti.

“The squad will not be changed as it goes well.”

Inter issued a statement stated: “With regards to the supposed declarations which Massimo Moratti gave in relation to Ryan Giggs, Internazionale state the president has not made these declarations, and has not even thought about the issue.”
