Javier Irureta has left Real Betis after only six months in charge.
Betis’ club president Jose Leon confirmed Irureta’s exit, but did not disclose whether he had resigned or was sacked.
A press conference is expected to announce the news, but Leon confirmed the decision to journalists.
“All I can tell you is that he is leaving,” he said.
Despite Wednesday’s victory over Gimnastic, Betis are still in the bottom three.
Irureta took over in the summer – his first post since resigning as coach of Deportivo La Coruna in 2005.
