Udinese’s towering German international striker Carsten Jancker has revealed he will be leaving the Serie A team at the end of the season.

Jancker, who lost his starting spot to Vincenzo Iaquinta, admits that he had little choice but to leave the club.

“I leave a city that welcomed me positively. I’d like to thank everyone. I think this is the right choice,” he said.

“Unfortunately things here did not go as planned. I don’t know why I haven’t been able to find space.

“In the beginning I didn’t play very well, then I got injured and the coach choose Iaquinta.”
