Former Yugoslavia coach Ivica Osim is set to be unveiled as the next Japan coach, according to the Kyodo news agency on Friday.

Osim, currently the manager of J. League outfit JEF United Ichihara Chiba, won a bronze medal sa coach of Yugoslavia at the 1984 Olympics, and reached the quarter-finals of the 1990 World Cup as the manager of Yugoslavia.

“Today, we decided the signing will be on July 21,” Kyodo reported Japan Football Association President Saburo Kawabuchi as saying on Friday.

Japan are scheduled to play their first match under Osim on Aug. 9, against Trinidad & Tobago at National Stadium in Tokyo.
