Martin Jol has dismised reports claiming he is ready to quit Tottenham as ‘a load of rubbish’.

Speculation has been rife that that Jol was prepared to resign following the persistent rumours about his future at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have already denied reports that the club have called an emergency board meeting to discuss the situation.

And Jol says he is determined to lead Spurs out of the Premier League’s bottom three and is surprised by the latest round of rumours.

“Everybody is committed to the cause and the cause is to get higher up in the league and make a success of the season,” Jol told the club’s official website.

“Doing this is dominating my thoughts at the moment, so, as you would imagine, I was a little bit surprised to hear that one newspaper was suggesting that I was on the verge of quitting my job today.

“What a load of rubbish!”
