Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic has confirmed he would be happy to commit his future to the Serie A side.

Jovetic, 20, was reported to be unsettled that the club made a bid to sign Antonio Cassano on loan as it may have restricted his involvement in the side.

“Everyone said that I was angry, but I never was and I have never spoken about this with journalists or with the club,” he told Corriere dello Sport. “Sure, Cassano is a formidable player, but I never said that I would leave.

“I am ready to sign a new contract. I am very happy here. It’s a fantastic city with a group of fans who know how to make you fall in love.

“If they want to extend my contract, that suits me fine and this proposal would be of great significance. If Fiorentina have taken this decision, if they want to focus on me, it means that they are satisfied with my work and my commitment.”
