Juventus continued their impressive start to the season with a comfortable 2-0 win over struggling Roma.

Goals from Alessandro Del Piero and a second from substitute Marcelo Zalayeta gave Fabio Capello’s side the win against his former club and restored Juve’s lead at the top of the table to five points.

After a slow start to the contest, Juventus began to dominate and duly took the lead midway through the half when Del Piero picked up Camoranesi’s lay off to fire a right-footed effort past Zotti.

Roma could have equalised before the break had it not been for Gianluigi Buffon who tipped over Vincenzo Montella’s close-range drive .

Just two minutes after Zalayeta replaced Del Piero he collected Ibrahimovic’s pass before beating Matteo Ferrari in the box and stroking the ball past Zotti.

The home side finished the game with just ten men when former Roma player Emerson was sent off for bringing down Antonio Cassano and collecting his second yellow card.
