Juventus have revealed an interest in Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard after confirming they will be able to buy players ‘of his class’ this summer.

Lampard has 14 months remaining on his Blues contract but has refused to discuss a new deal until the end of the season.

Juventus boss Claudio Ranieri signed Lampard from West Ham during his time in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Juve director Gianluca Pessotto has admitted the club is monitoring Lampard, and has hinted they are lining up a bid for the England international at the end of the season.

“He is an excellent player,” Pessotto said in The Sun.

“I feel we will be able to buy players of his class in the summer.”

Reports suggest Lampard could leave for as little as £6million in the summer if Chelsea cannot tie him to a new contract.
