Juventus have signed Milan’s Christian Abbiati on a season-long loan following the injury to Gianluigi Buffon which will keep the Italian number one out of action for up to three months.
Buffon has been ruled out after sustaining a shoulder injury following a collision with Brazilian Kaka in a friendly with Milan on Sunday.
Abbiati has confirmed the move on his personal website.
“We are very sorry that the national team goalkeeper has got injured, especially in what was just a normal passage of play,” Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani said.
“Given that, Abbiati going to Juve could be a good idea.”
